Airtel data plans 

Under this section, our discussion is on the different Airtel Data Plans airtel has for its customers. Airtel has the interest of the customers at heart and as such, there is a data plan for everyone according to their budgets and other needs.

Here, you will get to know the list of available plans and some information on them. The categories of the data plan include daily, weekly, and monthly data plans. Also, there are special data bundles.

Airtel Daily and Weekly Data Plans

Airtel Family Data Plan

The package allows you to share your data with family members and you can add up to 5 persons together with yourself. The exciting part is that Airtel will reward you each time you add a family member with free data worth 500 MB.

However, the 500MB is a one-off offer. Furthermore, the package comes with 100 free SMS and 50 minutes call bonus for you and your dependents, but you can only use it between you and them.

• ₦10000 for 50GB valid for 30 days. Dial *141*10009#
• ₦15000 for 80GB valid for 30 days. Dial *141*15009#

• ₦50000 for 400GB valid for 90 days. Dial *141*50009#.

As part of the Airtel Family Plan, Airtel provides their customer with a booster plan. A booster plan helps you top up your purchased family plan before it finishes or after it finishes. For the booster plan, you have the option to buy either ₦2000 for 8GB or ₦4000 for 16GB.

How to Link your NIN to your airtel Number

You can use USSD or visit the website if you want to link your nin with your airtel line.

USSD 

Dial *121*1# on your phone with the Airtel line you wish to link your NIN to.

Wait for a prompt where you will enter the 11 digits on your NIN card and send. You will receive a message that validates the processing of the action. If successful, you will be notified through SMS. Usually, the whole process is not immediate and may take longer in some cases.

However, you can also retrieve your NIN digits by dialing *346#. The service of N20 will be deducted from your balance.

Airtel Website 

Another way is by visiting this www.airtel.com.ng/NIN and following the procedure to submit your NIN. Also, you can navigate to the section where you can link your NIN on the Airtel App.

How to check your number on Airtel

It is not a problem if you do not remember your Airtel number. You can always get it with ease without racking your brain or searching for the SIM pack. All you have to do is dial *282# with the line. Within a few seconds, you will get a message with the number. The process is easy and no attached service fee.

How to borrow airtime/data on Airtel 

You can borrow when you need airtime or data. You will be charged a service fee including VAT which will be deducted from the amount you want to borrow. On your next recharge, the loan will be deducted.

Airtime

For Airtel XtraCredit, the service fee is 15% on all amounts greater than ₦25 and 20% on ₦25. However, you must be eligible before you can borrow. To be eligible, the conditions are

• At least two months of consistent use of the Airtel line with an average recharge of ₦200 or more per month.
• No history of unpaid loans/debts

If you are eligible, dial *500# and select airtime. You will get the predetermined available amount that you can borrow. Reply with the corresponding code.

For Data

The same conditions for airtime borrowing hold when you want to borrow data as well. Also, a customer must be eligible before he or she can use the service.

To borrow, dial *500# and select data. You will see the available amount of data you can borrow. Reply with the corresponding codes according to your choice.

Airtel Family and Friends

Airtel Family and Friends is a special package for you to help create a connection between you and your loved ones. Especially when you are the type that calls one another frequently. You can create a list to add them and Airtel will charge you less when you make calls to them.

To join, *311#

To add a number of your loved ones. Use this format

*311*2*NUMBER# 

Example

*311*2*0902457896#

Note that you can only add five numbers.

To delete a number, dial *311*3*NUMBER#

Example

*311*3*0902457896#

Airtel Night plan

For folks that love night browsing, you can make use of the Airtel Night Plan which is affordable. The plan becomes active by midnight and ends by 5 am. With ₦25, you get 500 MB and with ₦150 you get 1.50 GB.

However, if you are not on the SmartTrybe, you can not partake in this offer. Dial *312# to migrate to the plan.

To subscribe to the Airtel night plan, dial *312#, and select a night plan with the corresponding code. Choose your favorite plan. 

You can repeat these 4 times before it elapses.

How to transfer airtime and data on Airtel 

Airtime 

It is possible to share airtime and data with your friends and family on Airtel. Me2U is the platform through which airtel subscribers can share airtime or data among families and friends. Let me walk you through the steps by which you can achieve this. 

STEP 1

Change your Me2U pin

It is advisable to change the default password to deny unauthorized access to your airtime. If you have done this, you can skip this step.

To change your pin, write a message in this format:  PIN default pin/new pin/ without the slashes. Then send it to 432. The default pin is always 1234 for Airtel. The same process also works for changing your pin. The format becomes: PIN old pin/new pin without the slashes.

STEP 2

To transfer the airtime, use the following format as your USSD code.

*432*AIRTEL NUMBER*AMOUNT# then send. Next, you get a prompt to input your pin to confirm the transaction.

The service is completely free and you can send any amount you want to as many as possible. However, you can only send to Airtel Users (prepaid subscribers).

Data 

You can either use Data Me2U or gift data If you want to share data on Airtel. The former requires that you have a data balance already from which the data will be deducted. While the latter is like buying data for the recipient and it does not affect your balance.

For Data Me2u, you need to change your password if you have not. The previous section explains how you can do that. If you have done that, proceed to dial *141# and select shared data.

Then select data me2u and follow the strings of commands to send the data. You must have enough data balance to cover the amount you wish to send.

Note that you cannot share more than 200 MB and the maximum number of recipients you can share with is 2 per day.

For data gifting, you follow the same step as dialing*141#, then reply with the code that corresponds to shared data. Afterward, ds you reply with the code corresponding to the o gift data. Then follow the strings of command. The amount of the data will be charged from your airtime.

There are no limitations on the amount you can send or the number of people you can gift data to in a day.
