The physical therapist assists patients in achieving their highest level of performance in accordance with the Plan of Care that the doctor has prescribed.

The physical therapist performs physical therapy evaluations, develops plans, and implements treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part.

Job Responsibilities

• In accordance with accepted physical therapy principles and practices, assess inpatients and create a thorough treatment plan to return them to their highest level of functional ability.
• After an illness, accident, or physical impairment, direct therapy intervention is used to restore patient functioning and prevent disability.
• Give patients medical attention in an acute care situation. The ED, med-surg, swing-bed (rehab), and SCU are included in this. If requested, there is also the option of cross-training in an outpatient setting.

Job Qualifications

• Possess a physical therapy degree from an approved university.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and physical therapy licensure from the state of Maine must be current.
• ACLS accreditation is preferred.
• Preferably in outpatient orthopedics, prior PT experience
• Clinical expertise in the necessary field of practice. comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology, with an emphasis on the musculoskeletal system. current understanding of drugs and how they affect the body.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required when working with patients, doctors, supervisors, and other employees. Time management, prioritizing, and coordination of medical treatment are also important talents.
