Job Responsibilities

The duty of the cashier or checker is to actively engage in and greet, converse with, and serve customers.
Cashiers swiftly, correctly, and efficiently execute consumer transactions through the check lane.
Checkers are familiar with the Point of Sale (POS) system and manage a variety of tenders, including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, sophisticated loyalty incentives, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with corporate policy.
The checker must be aware of and abide by the company’s restrictions on cash shortages and/or overages, as well as work honestly and successfully to minimize loss.
The cashier must be aware of and follow the rules of the limited sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
