Job Responsibilities

• The duty of the cashier or checker is to actively engage in and greet, converse with, and serve customers.
• Cashiers swiftly, correctly, and efficiently execute consumer transactions through the check lane.
• Checkers are familiar with the Point of Sale (POS) system and manage a variety of tenders, including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, sophisticated loyalty incentives, coupons, and checkout procedures in accordance with corporate policy.
• The checker must be aware of and abide by the company’s restrictions on cash shortages and/or overages, as well as work honestly and successfully to minimize loss.
• The cashier must be aware of and follow the rules of the limited sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)

• Inform the Scan Coordinator of any pricing inconsistencies.
