Ruger whose full name is Adebayo Michael Olayinka was born in 1999, on the 17th of April. He was birthed in Cotonou but he grew up in Benin and Lagos state. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo are from Kogi.

He was chanced to move along with his parents during his high school days who often moved due to his father’s business which has made it difficult for him to have close friends.

Career

Ruger started singing as a teenager in his church. He joined his church choir as a vocalist and he subsequently signed up as a member of his college musical band. He gladly composed songs since he was 10 and he would perform them at his College’s events and native reveals in Lagos. By then, he had come about his stage name, Ruger.

Fortunately for him, luck shined on him and he met with D’Prince in 2020. D’Prince is the brother of massive-time producer and file label principal, Don Jazzy. He fell in love with Ruger’s sound after listening to it.

He was able to achieve mainstream recognition with this and his debut “Bounce” became his major hit. It reached number one on Apple Music in Nigeria and other African countries.
