Electricians in the United States Job Summary
Performs maintenance on a 24/7 basis on electrical equipment and instruments, buildings, grounds, utilities, and other devices in order to keep a corn milling business running safely and efficiently while adhering to food safety and process quality standards.
Electrical and electronic equipment, as well as necessary maintenance software, are selected, installed, and maintained. Instrument and electronic device calibration is provided. Work overtime and answer to call-in work are required. Assists the Maintenance Team in providing 24/7 coverage as per the Maintenance Supervisor’s schedule.
Job Responsibilities
- Interpret and read drawings and layouts.
- Set up and operate the electrical and electronic equipment required to carry out all of the craft’s duties.
- Electrical and electronic equipment is installed, maintained, replaced, moved, calibrated, or removed.
- Electrical wiring and conduits are installed and maintained.
- Repair and test electrical and electronic equipment, sensors, and instruments to ensure that they are working properly.
- Perform electrical and mechanical activities required for the plant’s equipment and devices’ construction, installation, repair, and operation.

- Rebuild, restore and replace electrical parts that are damaged, malfunctioning, or worn.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, as well as remove materials and equipment from the construction site.
- Assist in the overall sanitation and housekeeping of the factory.
- Operate and maintains Drills, saws, grinders, and other shop tools used to cut, thread, and fit pipes.
- With the proper PPE, works in all sections of the plant, including inside, outdoors, in confined places, and working at heights.
- Maintain the structure and grounds and calibrates instruments and electronic gadgets.
- Maintain electric and electronic equipment by communicating with contractors.
- PLC logic program troubleshooting and repair
- Electrical circuits, components, and systems are tested and repaired.
- Working with both low and high voltage equipment is a plus (Up to 600V)
Job Qualifications
- Good communication and organizing skills
- Ability to operate maintenance shop machinery such as drills, saws, and grinders, among other things.
- Electrical equipment troubleshooting and repair
- Can read and comprehend drawings, prints, and other visual media.
- Simple maintenance tools such as impacts, wrenches, pliers, hammers, screwdrivers, and other similar items can be used.
- Troubleshooting and electrical equipment repair experience (Instrumentation)
Educational Requirements
- Equivalent to a high school diploma
- Advanced knowledge and expertise with PC/Laptop hardware and software
- LOTO certification and experience
- Interpretation of technical data
- Can read and comprehend standard operating procedures, prints, and instructions
- 2 or more years of experience in electrical-related activities/maintenance + documented technical education as an electrician
- 2 or more years of experience as an E&I technician or documented technical education in electronics and PLC + 2 or more years of experience
