More than 80 Men were beaten by their wives – Lagos State Government.

The Lagos State Government has disclosed that 89 Men reported that they were beaten by their wives in domestic violence cases between 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.

Cecilia Bolaji Dada, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) disclosed this on the 4th of May, 2020 at a ministerial news conference to mark the second year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in office, held in Ikeja, Lagos.

Cecilia further said that a total of 46 men reported at the Ministry in 2020 that their wives violated them and 43 men reported at the ministry in the first quarter of 2021, making a total of 89 reports.

She added on the contrary that a total of 664 women had been violated by their husbands between 2020 and the first quarter of 2021.
