Eze Okey, a Nigerian man who claimed to be a tiler has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Eze was arrested with 350 wraps of cocaine that’s worth over N2bn in street value.
Eze, a 38-year old from Orji River, Enugu state was taken into custody on the 22nd of September,2021 during an inward clearance of boarding passengers on Ethiopian airline, flight number 911.
The Drugs seized from Eze weighed over 7 Kilograms and were made into 8 packs and hidden in different parts of his luggage.
Eze Okey made a confession where he disclosed that he is a resident of Bamako, Mali, and said he had traveled to Mali through Seme border in Badagry, Lagos state since 2019.
He disclosed further that he came into Nigeria with Drugs because he was in need of money to care for his deceased elder brother’s children.
Eze further said that he asked a friend who resided in Brazil to help him with some money but he refused and advised that he pick up a bag with drugs from one of his colleagues in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and deliver it to someone in Nigeria for N500,000
