Gardener Job Responsibilities
The potential Gardener at Chautauqua Institution is tasked with the following responsibilities:

- Planting Flowers, bushes, and trees.
- Watering the Garden, lawns, and landscapes.
- Pruning, weeding, and removing wasted flowers and leaves are all part of the maintenance process.
- Monitoring Plant health.

- Handling landscaping tools such as a line trimmer, edger, shrub shears, and leaf blower.

Job Pay

Gardener Job Schedule
Summer work at Chautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company is available on a flexible schedule, both full and part-time, commencing in June and ending in August.

Seasonal jobs may be offered before (pre-season) or after (post-season) the season, depending on company demands and applicant availability. Holidays are usually included in schedules as a necessity.
While you’ll confirm your final schedule with management during your interview and offer of employment, you may expect the following schedule alternatives for this position:
Typically works weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for up to 40 hours each week. Candidates who can work full-time from pre-season (mid-April) through post-season are given priority (October).
