The Nigerian senate has requested that Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari declare bandits as terrorists.
The Upper Chamber of the Nigerian National assembly also asked the President to declare known bandit leaders in the country wanted and track them wherever they are for arrest and prosecution.
The Senate also appealed to Buhari to channel the National Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) energy to rapidly help all banditry victims in Sokoto and other areas of the country.
The resolution was reached after a motion titled:
“Banditry in Sokoto State particularly Sokoto East Senatorial District” sponsored by Senator Ibrahim Gobir, was considered by the lawmakers.
